Conservatory of Flowers
The Conservatory of Flowers is a greenhouse and botanical garden that houses a collection of rare and exotic plants in Golden Gate Park, near the California Academy of Sciences and de Young Museum. With construction having been completed in 1878, it is the oldest building in the park. It is the colours, shapes, and presentation of the flowers that draw you closer to this awe-inspiring attraction. It houses some 1,700 species of aquatic and tropical plants, a world-renowned collection of orchids, giant water lilies, and carnivorous plants.
