The Transamerica Pyramid is the tallest skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline and its façade is coated with crushed quartz. It was finished in 1972, has a height of 853ft and has 48 floors mainly occupied by offices. The only portion of the Transamerica Pyramid open to the public is its Plaza Level Visitor Center with a gift shop, live feed of the building's top and historical information. The Transamerica Pyramid is located on Barbary Coast and you can go to Union Square on foot.
